In order to avoid 2015’s nomination kerfuffle from happening again, the Bonnyville-Cold Lake Progressive Conservatives have enacted a new bylaw.
Members were outraged last year when polls were originally only planned to be held in Cold Lake, which led some to feel one candidate would be favoured over another. An advance poll was eventually scheduled in Bonnyville, but some were still disappointed that a station was not available in Glendon.
The new bylaw assures that any future nomination will have polling available in Cold Lake, Glendon and Bonnyville and that they will all be conducted at the same time.
