Cold Lake council thanks Portage Colleges outgoing president and welcomes new

Cold Lake city council offered a warm farewell to outgoing Portage College’s president and welcomed the new president during its November 25 regular council meeting.

Outgoing president Nancy Broadbent introduces Portage College’s new presidents and CEO, Dr. Stephen Price during a presentation of Portages annual update.

“We have been very fortunate to have such a wonderful relationship with Nancy over the year,” said Mayor Bob Mattice. “Portage College is an important organization in our community, and we are looking forward to continuing our strong relationship with Stephen as he gets settled into his new role.”

The city and the college have partnered on many projects over the years, helping to elevate education and resources in the Lakeland. Their most recent partnership includes the creation and housing of the upcoming Aircraft Structures Technician Certificate program, with classes taking place at the Cold Lake Regional Airport.

“We want to thank Nancy for all the great years we have spent working together,” said Mattice. “Portage has made great strides under her leadership and we know she will continue to thrive as she moves on.”
