Cold Lake’s Hearts for Healthcare Gala raised $325,000 during its May 3 event, themed An Evening at the Museum.
Held at the Cold Lake Energy Centre, the gala featured local artwork, music, and an experience that celebrated community spirit while supporting healthcare improvements.
The event focused on raising $45,000 for a Lucas CPR device and an ECG machine for the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre. Local businesses, residents, and sponsors who contributed made exceeding the goal possible.
Guests enjoyed performances by Reegan Dehid, Joseph Clayton, and Colin Conway and Mitch Gillis, a meal from Joly’s Fine Cuisine, and a “Art Heist” performance and raffle. Top supporters also participated in the First-to-Eat auction.
This year’s awards went to Dr. Zaid Al-Ani with the Healthcare Excellence Award and nurse practitioner Elaina Wall with the Nursing Excellence Award. Volunteers Alexis Corbin, Liz MacPhee-Kotowicz and board member Rob Brassard were also recognized.
“Our community showed up in such a powerful way,” said Executive Director Kari Leiper. “The generosity in that room wasn’t just about reaching a fundraising goal-it was about making real change for the people in this region. These funds will provide lifesaving equipment, and that’s something every single person in the room can feel proud of.”
The evening success was made possible by the strong support of local sponsors. More than 200 volunteers helped with bringing the event to life, and Hearts for Healthcare extended its gratitude to every individual and organization who donated their time and energy.
“The atmosphere in the room was incredible,” said board member Christina Kean. “This gala brought together the best of our community-art, generosity, music, and a shared commitment to making healthcare stronger for everyone. It was inspiring to be part of it.”
Planning for next year is already underway. Hearts for Healthcare is inviting the community to mark their calendars for next year’s gala, happening on May 2, 2026.
