St. Paul RCMP encourages volunteers to join Citizens on Patrol

St. Paul RCMP is encouraging residents to volunteer with the Alberta Citizens on Patrol Association (ACOPA) to help keep their community safe.

The decade-long initiative is seeking volunteers to help enhance safety across the province. The association who works closely with Alberta RCMP aims to promote safer homes and neighbourhoods.

With 44 active chapters, Citizens on Patrol volunteers play a big part in crime prevention by patrolling local areas, watching for suspicious activity, and reporting it to local RCMP. Volunteers are trained by RCMP and commit to regular patrols, helping to create a safer environment for everyone.

St. Paul RCMP says that to become a Citizen on Patrol volunteer, individuals must be at least 19 years old, holds a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and pass an RCMP security check. Those interested in joining can apply online at http://www.acopa.ca/.

For more information and updates, St. Paul RCMP encourages residents to follow Alberta RCMPs social media.
