Three charged with first-degree murder after human remains found near Kikino

The Alberta RCMP have charged three individuals with firs-degree murder following the discovery of human remains in a fire pit near Kikino Métis Settlement last summer.

An investigation involving RCMP detachments from Lac La Biche, Bonnyville, and Wabasca, along with specialized units from Edmonton, led to the identification of three suspects in the death of 34-year-old Jeremy Collins, a Kikino resident.

Curtis White, 33, of Wabasca, and Amber Hope, 26, of Kikino, were arrested on January 17 and charged with first-degree murder and indignity to human remains.

Randall Louis Gadwa, 31, of Kehewin Cree Nation, was arrested on January 22 and charged with first-degree murder.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

All three suspects remain in custody following appearances before a Justice of the Peace. White and Hope are scheduled to appear in court on February 3 in Lac La Biche, while Gadwa’s first appearance is set for February 6, also in Lac La Biche.
