Three individuals have been arrested and charged after police tracked down a Cold Lake man wanted on serious charges at a rural property near Elk Point on January 8. The operation also led to the seizure of several firearms and stolen vehicles.
According to Alberta RCMP, officers had been searching for the suspect when he and two others were seen leaving the property in a vehicle. Multiple RCMP units, including the Emergency Response Team, monitored the group until the vehicle was safely disabled effectively minimizing the risk to the public.
Police discovered the vehicle had been stolen, and a search revealed several firearms reported to be stolen from Vermilion. At the property, officers also found another stolen vehicle and two stolen trailers.
Christopher Paul Bouchard, a 41-year-old Cold Lake resident, faces multiple charges, including flight from police, six counts of possession of firearms in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was remanded into custody and is schedule to appear in court on January 21 in Bonnyville.
Ryan Mitchell Greer, a 33-year-old resident of the Municipal District of Bonnyville, was also arrested. He faces similar charges, including six counts of possession of firearms in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failing to comply with release conditions, and possession of a firearm contrary to an order. Greer was remanded into custody and appeared in court on January 13 in Lac La Biche.
A youth was also charged with multiple offences and has been released with a future court date, RCMP said.
