Cold Lake city council has reaffirmed its commitment to community revitalization and supporting local initiatives by approving funding for the Residential Demolition Grant Policy and allocating resources to various community programs.
The Residential Demolition Grant Policy, funded for 2025, aims to encourage redevelopment within the city by offering grants of up to $10,000 to developers. These grants help cover the costs of demolishing and removing structures deemed uninhabitable.

In addition to revitalization efforts, council has allocated $22,500 through the Community Recreation, Arts, Culture, and Heritage Investment (CRACH) Grant program. This funding supports local organizations that contribute to the city’s culture and social enrichment.
Recipients include the Age Friendly Cold Lake Society, which received $20,000, the Cold Lake Music Festival Association received $1,500, and the Grand Centre Lions Club received $1,000.
While a grant application from the Canadian Adaptive Snowsports – Alberta Association has been deferred to allow for further consideration by the Community Grant Advisory Committee, applications from the Kryla Ukrainian Dance Club and the Lakeland Multicultural Association were denied, as they did not meet the grant program’s criteria.
