The St. Paul RCMP reported a busy week, responding to 170 calls for service and executing 17 arrest warrants.
Two notable incidents include the arrest of a suspect with outstanding warrants and an ongoing investigation into a robbery involving bear mace.
On November 11, around 1:00 a.m., RCMP responded to reports of a male with a firearm near the intersection of Range Road 103 and Highway 29. Upon arrival, the suspect fled but was apprehended by police.
The suspect, Darius Bretton, 32, of Saddle Lake, was arrested for outstanding warrants and additionally charged with two counts of failure to comply with release order conditions and resists/obstruct peace officer.
Bretton was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is scheduled to appear in the St. Paul Court of Justice on November 14.
In a separate incident on November 14, before 4:00 a.m., St. Paul RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business near 50 Avenue and 52 Street. During the robbery, an employee was sprayed with bear mace before the suspect fled the scene.
RCMP has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
