St. Paul RCMP weekly update, increased calls and ongoing investigations

From October 21st to the 24th, the St. Paul RCMP responded to a total of 198 calls for service, with 11 arrest warrants successfully executed.

Highlights from the week include a firearm seizure, a pedestrian-involved collision, and an uptick in reports of mischief.

On October 21, RCMP officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Saddle Lake First Nation, where they discovered an unregistered firearm in the possession of a male without a license. The individual faces pending charges as RCMP continue to address unlawful firearm possession in the region.

Later on, October 21, shortly before 4:30 p.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of 50 Avenue and 44 Street in St. Paul.

A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. RCMP are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

The detachment received seven reports of break-and-enter incidents, with four occurring within St. Paul town limits. Charges are pending against one suspect in connection with these cases, while investigations continue for the remaining reports.

RCMP noted an increase in reported mischief, responding to 35 incidents over the week. This rise is above the usual rate of mischief-related calls, and police are encouraging the community to keep reporting such occurrences, as public cooperation is crucial for deterring these activities.

The St. Paul RCMP thanked residents for their continued vigilance and reporting, which plays a vital role in supporting local law enforcement efforts to maintain community safety.
