Bonnyville RCMP responds to 191 calls between October 11-18

The Bonnyville RCMP responded to 191 calls for service during the week of October 11-18, handling a range of incidents, including assault, and break-and-enter cases.  

On October 12 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a residence on the 5500 block of 55 Street following a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with visible facial injuries.  

The suspect 37-year-old Christopher Lepine was located and arrested at the scene.  

Lepine has been charged with assault and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 22.  

On October 16 around 2:00 a.m., RCMP responded to a break-and-enter and theft in progress at an oilfield lease site. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two suspects in possession of break-in tools and a large quantity of copper wire from the site. Drugs were also discovered in their vehicle.  

The suspects, 40-year-old Brent Perdonic and 48-year-old Patti Wheaton, both from Cold Lake, were arrested and face multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, mischief causing damage over $5,000, possession of break-in tools, possession of methamphetamine, and identity fraud. Perdonic faces an additional charge for operating a vehicle without a license. 

Both suspects were released following a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in court on November 19.
