The Bonnyville RCMP responded to 191 calls for service during the week of October 11-18, handling a range of incidents, including assault, and break-and-enter cases. Â
On October 12 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a residence on the 5500 block of 55 Street following a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with visible facial injuries. Â
The suspect 37-year-old Christopher Lepine was located and arrested at the scene. Â
Lepine has been charged with assault and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 22. Â
On October 16 around 2:00 a.m., RCMP responded to a break-and-enter and theft in progress at an oilfield lease site. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two suspects in possession of break-in tools and a large quantity of copper wire from the site. Drugs were also discovered in their vehicle. Â
The suspects, 40-year-old Brent Perdonic and 48-year-old Patti Wheaton, both from Cold Lake, were arrested and face multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, mischief causing damage over $5,000, possession of break-in tools, possession of methamphetamine, and identity fraud. Perdonic faces an additional charge for operating a vehicle without a license.Â
Both suspects were released following a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in court on November 19. Â
