Ceremonial flyby planned for Battle of Britain parade in Cold Lake

4 Wing Cold Lake has announced that multiple CF-188 Hornet aircraft from the 409 Tactical Fighter Squadron are scheduled to conduct a ceremonial flyby above the Legion Cenotaph on 10th Street, Cold Lake, at approximately 11:18 a.m. on Sunday, September 15. This event is part of the Battle of Britain parade commemorations.

The flyby will be performed at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle over ground level. The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) emphasizes that all flybys are carefully planned and closely controlled to always ensure public safety.

The RCAF states they are proud to participate in special events, allowing them to demonstrate the capabilities of their personnel and aircraft to Canadians. However, aircraft participation is subjected to weather conditions and operational requirements.

Residents are encouraged to attend the parade and witness this aerial display in honor of the Battle of Britain.
