Alberta RCMP have issued a shelter-in-place order for residents within the CFB Cold Lake area, as officers actively search for an armed suspect.
The shelter-in-place directive affects residents in the following areas. North of Kingsway, West of 62 Street, South of Township Road 632, East of Range Road 424. This area includes the Cold Lake Golf and Country Club.
Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP are currently tracking the suspect, who is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black jacket, a white and black striped shirt, and blue jeans.
Residents within the designated zone are asked to stay indoors, lock all doors, and report any suspicious activity to 911 immediately. Those outside of the specified area are urged to avoid traveling to the region until further notice.
The RCMP have assured the public that additional updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
