On June 29, the Cold Lake RCMP responded to a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 659. The vehicle, positioned on the wrong side of the road, has pedestrians walking away from it down a nearby range road. Â
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from Bonnyville, Alta. The RCMP searched the area and found individuals matching the description of the vehicle’s occupants. Â
Further investigation revealed that one of the individuals, Logan Winegarden, 26, of Cold Lake, was in possession of 108.66 grams of methamphetamine and $350 in cash. As a result, Winegarden was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, and possession for trafficking. Â
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Winegarden was released on a release order.Â
