Sparkle in the Park illuminated Cold Lake with joy, community spirit, and generosity

Hearts for Healthcare is pleased to announce the success of its second annual Sparkle in the Park event. The “Winter Wonderland” created for the community was bigger and better than ever, bringing attendees an unparalleled sense of joy.

This year’s Sparkle in the Park was a heartfelt thank you from Hearts for Healthcare to the incredible Cold Lake community. The event captured attendees’ hearts, emphasizing the spirit of unity and community support that has become synonymous with this celebration.

The Cold Lake MD Campground transformed into a Winter Wonderland, featuring dazzling light displays, enchanting music, and endless holiday cheer. Local businesses, not-for-profits, sports teams, schools, and volunteers played a crucial role in creating an atmosphere that felt like a warm hug to everyone.

“We are overjoyed by the overwhelming success of Sparkle in the Park this year. The Cold Lake community, our dedicated volunteers, and our generous sponsors have not only made this event a celebration of the holiday season but also a testament to the strength of our community spirit,” expressed Kari Leiper, Executive Director of Hearts for Healthcare.

The event saw incredible community involvement, with over 50 display participants and volunteers enhancing the magical atmosphere. Local contributors like Tim Hortons Cold Lake, Sobeys Cold Lake, ATCO, Imperial Cold Lake, and Handcrafted by Elle & Bee played significant roles in making Sparkle in the Park an unforgettable experience.

Sparkle in the Park raised an impressive $30,200.00 towards local healthcare initiatives. The event drew in over 3,200 cars, each contributing to the festive spirit and community support that defined Sparkle in the Park.

Additionally, the event became the most significant food drive of 2023. Collecting a remarkable 2,386 kilograms of food donations for the Cold Lake Food Bank. This substantial contribution reflects the community’s generosity and compassion during the holiday season.

Ashley Brown, reflecting on the success of Sparkle in the Park, commented, “We raised over $30,000, which all goes towards local healthcare initiatives. So, like funding equipment, Doctor recruiting, that type of stuff directly goes to that. The intentional sparkle of heart was never to be a fundraiser. It has always been to give back to the community. I think it’ll continue to grow as it gets more popular.”

The funds raised will support local healthcare initiatives and ensure the community’s well-being.
