Pontiacs sending three to Junior Championship in Russia

The Bonnyville Pontiacs will be well represented on the Alberta Junior Hockey League club heading to Russia for the 2019 Junior Club World Cup.

The Yaks are sending three players across the Atlantic. Defenceman Jeremy Gervais and forwards Marc-Antoine Benoit and Daine Dubois have been selected to the All-Star club.

The players join Pontiacs Head Coach Rick Swan who was named to the coaching staff back at the beginning of June.

Teams from Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and USA will lock up for the 2019 Championship starting on August 23rd. The only Canadian team to win the tournament in its nine-year history is the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League back in 2013.
