New Lakeland College chair looks forward to the challenge

Lakeland College is settling in with its new leader. Scott Webb was announced as the new Chair of the Board of Directors on September 21st. The Vermilion resident was selected after an open recruitment competition. Webb was a former member of the board, student and business partner with the college. He says history is one of the reasons why he is qualified for the position.

“I am quite familiar with the college but I am also very proud of the fact we have the college in Vermillion and Lloydminster. I am very aware it is an economic driver for our communities.”

Webb is a third-generation business owner leading George C. Webb & Sons, a Ford dealership and three successful agricultural machinery businesses. He hopes to continue the leadership that was present by former board chair Darrel Howell.

“Being a member of the community and knowing people in both communities, I think it’ll be able to relate to the businesses, people and municipal leaders in the area.”

Webb served as a member on the Board of Governors of Lakeland College from 2014 to 2017.
