Lakeland College announces new board chair

Lakeland College went local when it selected its new chairperson of the board of governors. Scott Webb was announced as the selection in a release recently issued. The Webb name is no stranger to the Vermilion area. Webb is the third-generation owner of Webb’s Ford dealership as well as three ag businesses in the area.

Minister of Advance Education Marlin Schmidt says Webb’s reputation means students will get the best at the college. “I am confident [Webb] will make valuable contributions to Lakeland College, ensuring the highest-quality education for its students. I look forward to seeing the college grow and succeed under his leadership and vision.”

Webb served as a member on the Board of Governors of Lakeland College from 2014 to 2017. He is active in the community, volunteering for numerous organizations including the Vermilion & District Housing Foundation Capital Campaign and Rotary Club of Vermilion.
