Lac La Biche County will be using some funding from the province to see if it’s missing out on business. The county was approved this week for funding from the provincial Community and Regional Economic Support (CARES) program, a grant the province hopes will boost economic growth.
Lac La Biche County had applied for the grant to complete a Retail Gap Analysis, which is a project used by communities to see if there are any voids in the local retail market that could be filled. The county will receive just over $27,000 to help fund the project. It is expected that Lac La Biche and Plamondon will be the featured communities in the study.
