Three people are facing charges after Smoky Lake RCMP responded to a suspicious person call near a school in Smoky Lake.
PoliceĀ found three people in a vehicle near the school on the morning of October 6th. On preliminary investigation, police officers discovered the driver of the vehicle was breaching conditions of a court order and one passenger had outstanding warrants.
Police searched the vehicle after arrests were made without incident and seized what is believed to be 131 grams of crystal meth , 35 grams of crack cocaine, various drug paraphernalia, and Canadian currency.
āThis is a great example of why we want the public to report suspicious activity,ā says Sergeant Al Baird, Smoky Lake Detachment Commander. āOne person thinking something did not look right and calling the police, led to us making this arrest and removing drugs off the street.ā
The three accused are scheduled to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on November 16th.
