Woman Injured Stopping Car Theft

A woman has suffered minor injuries after preventing two thieves from stealing her car this past Thursday on the Elizabeth Metis Settlement.

The woman called the Cold Lake RCMP while the thieves were still in her car trying to take it. She then opened the passenger door and tried to grab the keys out of the ignition. One of the thieves backed the car up while she had one foot out of the car and one in. A few feet later the open door hit a post, pinning the woman between them. However, she was still able to put the vehicle in park and take the keys. The two suspects ran off.

A 16 year old male from the Elizabeth Metis Settlement and a 24 year old male from Bonnyville are both wanted in the case.
