Person Shot on Saddle Lake Cree Nation

The St. Paul RCMP are investigating after a person was shot on the Saddle Lake Cree Nation on Saturday.

Police first learned of the incident after pulling over a vehicle in St. Paul around 2:30 in the morning. When they looked inside they saw the victim’s gunshot wounds and escorted them to a local hopsital. The victim had non-life threatening injuries.

From there police learned that the victim had been shot in Saddle Lake. Several people were sitting outside a residence when a vehicle drove by and shot the victim. It is not known how many people were in the suspect vehicle and descriptions were not provided.

“This incident could have resulted in serious injuries or death to people outside the residence,” says Staff Sergeant Lee Brachmann, St. Paul Detachment Commander, “We are very fortunate no one was injured.”

St. Paul RCMP along with the Forensic Identification Section (FIS) – Edmonton continue to investigate this incident and are asking the public’s assistance for any information in relation to this matter.
