Enumerators Now Going Door To Door For Bonnyville Census

The Town of Bonnyville has had the option for people to fill out their municipal census online since earlier this month, awarding an iPad as a prize for those who do. Anyone who hasn’t done so yet will now have an enumerator knocking on their door sometime over the next while to get their information.

Overall though, town council was happy with the number of people who have filled their form out online so far.

“I think we were at about 22 percent the last time we did the census at this time, (now) we’re at almost thirty percent,” CAO Mark Power informed council. “So that was a six or seven percent uptick in the number of households. I’m not sure if that was because we were giving away an iPad or whether more people are used to the census. The young lady that won the iPad it was very easy to complete.”

Power still encourages people to fill their census out online even though the prize has been given away.

“It will save the enumerators from having to come to your house because it’s live. If you fill it out and they’re walking up your street, they will know you filled it out online and they won’t come to your door.”

You can fill your census out if you haven’t done so already here.
