MS Walk Gearing Up for Tenth Year

In less than four weeks, St. Paul will be hosting its annual MS Walk and this year’s going to be a particularly big one.

“It’s actually our ten year anniversary, so it’s going to be very exciting,” says Brenda Rosychuk with the St. Paul MS Society. “We have a great lineup of musical talent. We have Boomtown playing as well as Cassidy Zahar – who actually played with Brett Kissel last year – and we also have Tiana Tanasychuk. It’s going to be located right beside the recreation centre at the ball diamond.”

The event features a 2k, 5k, and 10k walk.

“If you want to challenge yourself and do a run, we have United Cycle coming out and they’re going to officially chip time a 5k, 10k or half-marathon, so a couple options for you,” adds Rosychuk.

Baby strollers, pets, bikes and scooters are all more than welcome on the course. You can go to mswalks,ca or call the St. Paul MS Society at 587-465-0185 to register.

“Our MS walk is our largest fundraiser and it fuels the majority of our programs, services and vital research for MS,” says Rosyhcuk. “Every year we raise money for our Lakeland region: it’s made up of sixty five towns so it’s quite a large region that we cover. The money goes back into the community so we’re able to help those people and increase their quality of life. Hopefully we can put some of that money to research and one day find a cure.”

The walk will be on May 13th.
