MD Selling Strychnine

The MD of Bonnyville has sixteen cases of two percent strychnine they’re selling to farmers who want to take care of their gopher problems.

The 250 millilitre bottles are $7.50 a piece and treat about a gallon of grain each.

Ag and Waste Services Director Matt Janz says between now and the end of May is the best time to deploy it in the field. “There’s not much food for them out there and they’ll uptake the poison pretty quickly.”

Janz says his department has already moved a lot of product out the door but is confident that they’ll have plenty on hand to meet demand for the year.
