Bonnyville is one step closer to implementing their front loader garbage systems. At Town Council’s March 24th meeting, councilors awarded tender for the supply of the large curbside garbage containers. The containers will be used for residents to put their weekly garbage in and place in front of their residence for pickup.
Gene Sobolewski, Mayor of Bonnyville says the new system won’t require “any employees to run around to dump garbage pails or the large garbage cans anymore”, which will help alleviate any physical restraints to the job. Mayor Sobolewski also notes that the soon-to-be system will “save the town money” .
Mayor Sobolewski further explains that the garbage bins come with safe guards. Each will have a personal ID tag, which will not only reduce or prevent theft of the bins but will also allow the town to know where the garbage is coming from.
