Councillor To Introduce Motion to Name Cold Lake Sports Field After Trustee Varughese

Cold Lake City Councillor Darell MacDonald plans to put a motion forward at the next council meeting naming the city’s newest sports field after recently deceased Northern Lights Public School Trustee Tom Varughese.

Varughese passed away Tuesday afternoon after an educational career in Cold Lake spanning over 40 years. “The Ivan Krook baseball diamond was named after another great Cold Laker,” said MacDonald on his Facebook page. “Tom was a amazing person that deserves this type of recognition.

“I am very proud to be a Councillor in the City and this Motion to help recognize Mr Varughese is the most satisfying accomplishment I have done.”
