Shots Fired at Fishing Lake House

Elk Point RCMP are looking into reports of shots being fired at a residence on the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement.

The owners were waken up around 2 in the morning on Monday by the sound of gunfire and called the police. No one inside was injured. Police discovered that someone had shot at the house multiple times.  A small car may have been driving near the residence at the time of the shooting.
Members patrolled the area extensively but no suspects or vehicle were located. RCMP believe this was not a random act.

“This incident could have resulted in serious injuries or death to the occupants of the residence,” says Sgt. Barry Larocque, Elk Point RCMP Detachment commander, “We are very fortunate no one was injured.”

Elk Point RCMP are urging the public to come forward with any information as to who might be responsible.
