AHS Candy Cane Campaign Coming to Lac La Biche

Alberta Health Services  will be running their candy cane campaign once again this December, including three days in Lac La Biche and the surrounding areas.

Drivers pulled over at checkstops as part of the campaign will get themselves a nice tasty candy cane as well as as some safety tips for the holidays.

  • Don’t drink and drive. It’s not worth risking it.
  • Prepare your vehicle for emergencies. Don’t get caught on a dark, cold road without a flashlight and warm winter boots.
  • Drive carefully. Ice and snow can make winter driving treacherous. Drive slowly, don’t hurry and watch for other drivers

AHS expects the campaign to reach more than 10,000 drivers. The program has been operating in northern Alberta for more than 10 years.

The campaign will be stopping in Lac la Biche for the 15th, 16th and 17th. Also included are Plamondon on the 15th and 17th as well as Kikino on the 17th.
