Jonathan Meakin, Accomplice Arrested

Jonathan Meakin has been arrested alongside Tarron Grandbois after RCMP found them driving a stolen vehicle on the Cold Lake First Nations.

RCMP initially came into contact with  Meakin last week when he fled in a stolen car, hitting a police vehicle in the escape.  After catching up with him again on Friday, RCMP used a spike strip to take the vehicle out. The suspects then fled into the woods where dogs were able to track them down. Police sat one of the suspects was injured by the dogs, though they didn’t specify which.

27 year old Jonathan Meakin has been charged with a total of 36 charges stemming from a series of investigations:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 x 9.
Fail to Comply With a Recognizance x 10.
Drive While Disqualified x 4.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00
Break and Enter and Commit Theft Over $5000.00.
Theft Over $5000.00.
Fail to Stop for Police While Being Pursued x 2.
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle x 2.
Resist Arrest.
Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance x 4.
Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision
19 year old Tarron Grandbois has been charged with:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00.
Fail to Comply With a Recognizance x 4.
Resist Arrest.
Both Jonathan Meakin and Tarron Grandbois have been remanded into custody and will next appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on December 14th
