Alberta comes together with India

New opportunities for agriculture producers in Alberta after Premier Alison Redford signed a memorandum of understanding with India.

The MOU supports an immediate increase in the sale of livestock genetics from Alberta to the state of Meghalaya and promotes more trade and cooperation on food processing and safety and on products such as canola, pulses and agriculture machinery.

The region in India has a population of over 40 million people, and the memorandum will allow a smooth transition of Alberta’s agri-food products to India including swine genetics.
