A host of guests including Mayor Omer Mograbhi and MLA Colin Piquette were present for the grand opening ceremony of Light of Christ Catholic School in Lac La Biche on October 19th.
“Lakeland Catholic School District and Light of Christ Catholic School would like to recognize the parents who worked with us to make this school a reality,” the district posted on their Facebook page. “Many of you put in hours of work volunteering to ensure we would have this school, and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you.”
Bishop of St. Paul, Paul Terrio for celebrated Mass at the ceremony and blessed the school. This year’s head count reported that 104 children are attending the school between Kindergarten and Grade 7 in its first year.
