Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce Launching Glendon Business Alliance

The Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce is launching a new, Glendon focused organization called the Glendon & District Business Alliance. They’ve invited everyone to their launch event at the Senior’s Hall this Thursday.

Starting at 6, the event will be a networking opportunity for all involved and a free Barbecue meal will be provided as well. “We’re really excited about this new initiative and being able to expand the Chamber’s reach,” says Executive Director Andrea Yaremie.

“For us it’s the Bonnyville and District area,” she adds. “So we’re focused on providing our service not just to the Town of Bonnyville. Of course Glendon falls within the MD. I know previously Glendon as a community had a chamber. They dissolved about five years ago. I think it was more of a volunteer effort back then. It is certainly a challenge (to operate chamber) if it’s just mainly volunteers, so they kind of lost that business voice in the community.”

Yaremie says the Chamber wants to fill the void left by the old chamber and bring that voice back to the community by supporting them “on a more specific level.” As the Alliance is a Bonnyville & District Chamber initiative, any Glendon business that’s a member becomes a member of the alliance as well.
