The federal and provincial governments have come to a new agreement on funding to support public transit projects. The governments of Canada and Alberta are making investments in the hopes of creating jobs and growing the middle class.
Over $1 billion dollars in funding have become available under two new federal programs: the Public Transit Infrastructure Program and the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund. Already there’s an initial list of approved projects in Alberta, 17 of which are water and wastewater projects, such as a regional water supply system extension in Bonnyville to give access to clean and reliable drinking water.
