There will be a small tax increase next year for the town of Bonnyville. At a recent town council meeting it was revealed that Bonnyville’s operational and capital budget was carrying a deficit of $110000 dollars for next year. Thus, councilors for the town have decided to increase taxes by 2% in 2015. This will mark the second straight year that council has increase taxes, last year the town saw a similar 2% increase. There was much discussion and deliberations prior to the decision which will see an additional $135000 dollars for the municipal tax year, which should cancel out the expended deficit.
