NLSD Planning 100th Anniversary Vimy Ridge Trip

Northern Lights School has been planning  afield trip for the past five years to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge.

The planning goes so far back so that interested students could start saving money and fundraising well in advance. The trip is open to students in grades 10 to 12 next year and so far 43 have signed up. Many more are still getting money together

During the two-week trip students will take part in the Vimy anniversary ceremonies, as well as visit Flanders Field, Juno Beach, Beaumont Hamel, and Passchendaele. They will also get to visit other Parisian landmarks like Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, Montmartre and the Louvre.

In December, the Board suspended all international travel for students and staff for this  school year. The Board will be reviewing the travel suspension at its June 8th meeting.
