In response to the recent termination of Neil Langridge’s contract with the Cold Lake Junior B Ice, the board would like to clarify a few of the misunderstandings and innuendos.
This was a decision made by the board as a whole; it was not made because of any parent being on the board, any players, or assistant coaches did not influence this decision. We as a board have to make decisions that will be beneficial to the team and the future of the organization.
Unfortunately Bob Lamoureux took it upon himself to speak to press without having any affiliation to the Cold Lake Junior B Ice Organization, and in doing so, two valued members of our team were mentioned in the newspaper. Either the Cold Lake Sun or Lamoureux never approached them. The irresponsible comments of an outsider regarding the team have caused undo stress for team members. We sincerely apologize to those individuals. They were never approached or spoke to prior to this decision being made.
The board would sincerely like to thank Corey Wandler and Brad Paice for the dedication they have shown to the players and taking the responsibilities of the coaching team. We would also like to thank and acknowledge the support staff and the players of the Cold Lake Junior B Ice, who have shown an amazing fortitude in character, we sincerely wish to acknowledge all of them.
