Yurdiga Criticizes Cuts to Military Budget

MP David Yurdiga is less than impressed with the Liberals plans to slash the military budget by 3.7 billion dollars over five years.

While the representative for Fort McMurray-Cold Lake does like a few items in the budget, such as the easier access to employment insurance, but he feels that there isn’t much of a plan to help oil workers get new jobs and that the military cuts are troublesome.

“we see aging aircraft, we need to replace a bunch of our military ships and a lot of vehicles and they’ve deferred it for many years… (Sending) our armed forces to conflict areas with inferior equipment is not the right thing to do.”

This year’s budget projects a 29.4 billion dollar deficit.
