One dead and one injured in two-vehicle collision near Ashmont

A woman is dead and a man is seriously injured following a head-on collision near Ashmont.

St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving two trucks near the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 36 shortly after 8 a.m., on April 23.

When officers arrived, a 40-year-old woman from Maskwacis was pronounced dead at the scene. One male was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital with serious injuries.

“Impairment by drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision,” said RCMP.
