A Level two fire advisory is now in effect as of 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, for the county of St. Paul.
The advisory was issued due to current and forecasted weather conditions, along with an increased risk caused by dry grass in the area.
“Safe wood campfires are allowed on private land and in campgrounds. Issuance of fire permits for any other open-air fire may be restricted. Existing permits would be honored, however issuance of new permits may be suspended,” the release stated.
Landowners are also being urged to check any previous burn sites to ensure they are fully extinguished.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the county of St. Paul at 780-645-3301 or St. Paul Fire Services at 780-645-4100.
