Snowfall warning issued for the Lakeland area

A snowfall warning is in effect for the Lakeland region with heavy snow expected throughout the day.

According to Environment Canada, snowfall will begin early Thursday morning and become heavy at times before ending in the evening. The Lakeland area is expected to receive between 10 to 20 centimetres of snow.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas,” reads the weather alert issued on March 12.

Drivers are urged to adjust to changing road conditions and exercise caution while traveling.

Environment Canada urges residents to monitor forecasts and alerts.
