Traffic stop near Loon Lake leads to drug seizure and one charged

On February 18 around 2:30 p.m., Loon Lake RCMP seized cocaine and methamphetamine following a traffic stop on Highway 26, 20 kilometers south of Loon Lake.

During the stop RCMP noticed signs of drug trafficking and arrested the driver and three passengers, one woman, and three men. RCMP did a search of a the vehicle and found approximately 184 grams of cocaine, 34 grams of methamphetamine, a baton, around $1,300 in cash, and other evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result, 29-year-old Robert Plourde of Onion Lake Saskatchewan was charge with possession of the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The three other individuals arrested were released without charges.

Plourde made his first appearance in Loon Lake Provincial Court on February 20.
