Two killed in tragic collision on icy Highway 831 near North Saskatchewan River bridge

On November 1, Smoky Lake RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 831 near the North Saskatchewan River bridge.  

Initial reports indicate that a truck with two occupants, a 54-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, lost control after driving over a patch of ice and collided with an oncoming semi-truck. 

Despite immediate response from emergency personnel, both occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene.  

Smoky Lake and Fort Saskatchewan RCMP extended their sincere condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims, acknowledging the profound impact of this loss on the family and the broader community.
