Lac La Biche RCMP seek eyewitnesses after altercations at Summer Days event

The Lac La Biche RCMP are appealing to the public for eyewitness accounts and video footage following a series of altercations at a Lac La Biche Summer Days event on Friday, August 2. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. at the Bold Centre, where RCMP officers were present to investigate an initial complaint involving several youths.  

While officers were conducting their investigation, an altercation broke out between other individuals in the immediate area. As officers attempted to arrest one suspect, a second altercation ensued, leading to further arrests.  

The RCMP noted that multiple bystanders were seen recording the events on their cell phones but left the scene before officers could obtain their statements. The RCMP are now asking those who witnessed the incident or have cell phone footage to come forward.  

Due to the involvement of youth, no names have been released, and charges are currently pending. As the matter is before the courts, no further details will be provided by the police.
