County of St. Paul issues fire ban effective July 23

Effective 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, the County of St. Paul has implemented a fire ban due to heightened fire risk conditions.

This fire ban applied to all areas within the county of St. Paul, including campgrounds. However, the town of St. Paul is currently exempt, as this municipality has the authority to issue its own restrictions if necessary.

Under the fire ban, all open fires within the county are prohibited. This includes campfires in campgrounds and random camping areas, as well as the use of charcoal briquettes, turkey fryers, and tiki torches. Additionally, the use of fireworks, flying lanterns, and exploding targets is also banned.

Residents and visitors should note that certain types of equipment are still allowed under the fire ban. Portable propane fire pits and gas propane stoves designed for cooking or heating are permitted.
