In a significant police operation in Bonnyville has led to charges against a local resident following the discovery of an explosive device and various stolen items.
On June 10th, officers from the Bonnyville RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 4300 block of 48 Ave. The search led to the seizure of multiple stolen items, drugs, and ammunition. Of particular concern, a Molotov cocktail was found in plain view in the garage.
The resident of the home, 42-year-old Robert Poole, now faces several charges. These include possession of an explosive, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, and possession of methamphetamine.
The stolen property is being returned to its rightful owners. To safely dismantle the Molotov cocktail, the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit was contacted and provided their assistance.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Poole’s arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Bonnyville RCMP at 780-343-7200.
