Impaired Driver in Boyle Hits School Bus

On Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 8:45 AM, the Boyle RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement. A white Oldsmobile Aurora failed to stop at an intersection collided with a school bus. The collision sent the school bus spinning into the ditch.

There were eight students on the school bus at the time of the collision ranging in age from 5 to 11 years old. Of the eight, two were taken to hospital with minor injuries. They have since been released.

The 31 year old female driver of the car was transported to hospital and has since been taken into custody. Investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. All possible contributing factors related to this collision are being considered; however, alcohol is believed to have played a role.
