Incident on Highway 28 West of Bonnyville

On January 22nd at approximately 1030 am, Bonnyville RCMP were advised of an individual near Highway 28 suffering from a possible medical emergency.  Patrols were made and police responded with support services including EMS.  Contact could not initially be established with the individual but after a brief period of time, police were able to make contact and take custody of the individual who was ultimately transported to hospital for treatment.
Traffic around the scene was temporarily diverted for a few hours before the highway was reopened.  The nature of the medical emergency will not be disclosed and no further updates are expected.
