The Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship has come to an end with Obrey Motowylo winning the dash with a time of 1:17.53.
Motowylo claimed victory with his sons Ethan Motowylo and Hayden Motowylo as his outriders defeating reigning world champion Layne MacGillivray, Rae Croteau Jr and Mitch Sutherland. He came off barrel number 3 in heat number 10 and won the championship final by 85 one-hundreds of a second over reigning World Champion Layne MacGillivray who placed second.
Rae Croteau Jr. crossed the finish line first but knocked over a barrel and had to settle for third place overall in the championship final. Mitch Sutherland also knocked a barrel and was pushed back into fourth place overall.
The WPCA Pro Tour will now head to Dewberry, Alberta for the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races starting Friday June 16, 2023 and running through to Sunday, June 18, 2023.
