Scott Cyr elected as Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul MLA-elect

United Conservative Party candidate Scott Cyr is MLA-elect for Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul after picking up the unofficial win during Monday’s general election. 

The UCP in Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul secured over 10,000 votes while NDP candidate Caitlyn Blake secured just over 3,000 according to results.elections.ab.ca at 12:50 AM. Cyr capped the evening off commending Caitlyn Blake for running the race she did. Cyr adds it was a very well-run race and he is happy to represent the Lakeland going forward.  

“It is quite an honor. I am here to listen. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will make sure those with needs in the community are met so please reach out.” 

When asked what his priorities will be in office, Cyr highlighted rural crime, local hospitals, and Highway 28.

“You can bet that I have heard your cries and I am looking to make sure there is solutions to people’s concerns.” 

Cyr had previously held office from 2015 until 2019 and says he is looking forwards to working with the new parts of the constituency. 

“I look forward to working closely with Elk Point and St. Paul. I have a desire to connect with them and develop friendships so they feel just as valued as every other part of the constituency.”

Official results from Elections Alberta are expected to be ratified no later than June 8th.
