The Bonnyville SPCA has taken in a litter of puppies after they were found stranded on the side of the road and is looking for families to adopt the animals.
The SPCA said in a Facebook post the animals were found on the side of the road and were held until space was made for the litter. All the puppies were given spring names to match their new beginnings. The following puppies are still up for adoption:
-Bloom (brown with pink collar, female)
-Honey (black and white, female)
-Finch (tan with white, male)
-Clover (black with white, female, blue and checkered collar)
-Rosemary (black and white female, pink and white polka dot collar)
-Poppy (black and white female, blue with bones collar)
Originally the SPCA took in nine over the weekend but was successful in finding three homes and now only six remain. Eleven puppies were found in total but two of the animals had to be transferred to another rescue spot. The pups have had their first deworming and shots and the SPCA says the animal is ready for adoption. With the adoption general manager of the SPCA, Judith Rodriguez says come many responsibilities.
“The animals must be kept safe and sound, given food and water and of course love and care. We also recommend tagging them because it is easier for the animals to be found.”
